Abstract
Purpose: This work was performed to compare visual perception of the 2.5D and 3D motion pictures. Methods: We measured brain wave intensities of ten subjects watching the 2D.2.5D, and 3S motion pictures by the EEG. Time-averaged relative intensities were calculated and compared at y- and a-frequency bands. Results: Compared to the EEG intensity of 2D motion pictures, those of both 3D and 2.5D increased at y-frequency band, However, the EEG intensity of 2.5D decreased at a-frequency band while that of 3D remained as unchanged. Conclusions: This result implies that visual perception of the 2.5D motion pictures in brain is not just same to that of 3D motion pictures.
